So DG and I are HOOKED on Parenthood right now...Yes, I know that we're late to the party. It's such a layered show that focuses on moments that are so relatable and real. It's a nice change of pace from the TV shows I'm usually obsessed with - Luther (IE kills it!), Game of Thrones, True Detective, Orange is the New Black, etc. I watch death and violent crime on the daily. I seem to love it. I needed a break though. There is hugging on Parenthood - lots of it.
The show features the kind of family that I hope to build - a large clan full of love where everyone has each other's back. See it on Netflix, and be prepared to fight back those tears every once and a while. I hate when the music swells and one of the characters says something so deeply loving and true. I start trying to fan the water welling in my eyes, cause I'm a "G", but - they got me!
And "Yay!" to Joy Bryant for bringing all kinds of wonderful to her character, Jasmine. The show even shouts out Alvin Ailey! Love!
BTW - I'm only on Season 3, so don't kill it for me. I will hunt you down and choke you. Everyone that knows me knows that I HATE SPOILERS!
