Daughter of an English teacher. Mother. Artist. Poet. Actress. Writer. Lyricist. Singer. This woman changed us. I remember listening to her album THE MISEDUCATION of LAURYN HILL while I was in college at Howard University (a.k.a. the mecca! - my partners J.M. -FAMU alum & D.G. -Spelman alum think otherwise;) and finally feeling like someone SAW me. Wow. What an amazing feeling. Lauryn Hill required the world recognize the black woman and all our glory. I swear the guys on campus treated US differently. Thank you, we are forever grateful Ms. Hill. Many, many, many thanks.
